Futur en Seine, the festival for digital life and creativity, is an international event held on a biannual basis in Paris and the surrounding cities of the Ile-de-France Region. The coming edition will take place from the 17th to the 26th of June 2011.
In 2009, Cap Digital, France’s biggest business cluster dedicated to digital industries and lifestyle, organised the first edition of Futur en Seine, in partnership with the Ile-de-France Region and the Paris council. The event brought together a massive audience of some 900ツꀀ000. Attendees included the most prominent players in the digital community, but also students, decision-makers, politicians, families, tourists, etc… Futur en Seine 2009’s outstanding success paved the way for the festival to become a paramount international event, as well as a popular gathering, enabling people to discover and have fun with the latest digital advances while grasping the issues related to them.
Futur en Seine is an “in” festival with an “off” dimension: its agenda is open to any organization willing to contribute by organising a stand, activity or work group.
Futur en Seine is also a time to party! Just as in fashion week, where parades are followed by “open” parties held by designers, Futur en Seine encourages its more active hosts to hold festival events, especially on the 21st of June 2011, the night of the nation-wide music festival.
Futur en Seine is a «meta-festival» which brings together top digital festivals and events: PicNic, SxSW, Reboot, LeWeb, Lift, and many others shall be on exhibit and contributing to the festival via various workshops.
