Jerome B. Wiesner Professor of Media Arts and Sciences

Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyProfessor Hiroshi Ishii, Associate Director of MIT Media Lab has been studying "Tangible" for many years. "Tangible" is a concept that makes digital tangible by giving physical form to digital information and computation. He is the first person in Asia to win SIGCHI LIFETIME RESEARCH AWARD that is given to a person who has made significant contributions to the academic field of human-computer interaction.
He said that today's technology becomes obsolete in a year, but true visions will last beyond 100 years.
What is "true vision"?
How do science, art and design interact to create a new vision for the future?
Professor Ishii's motto is "Be Artistic and Analytic. Be Poetic and Pragmatic."
A hint for those of us who live in today's uncertain future with COVID-19 will surely be hidden in those words and his lecture. -
